Toothache is not actually a dental problem - it is a symptom, and can be a symptom of many different dental problems. Toothaches are caused by the dental nerve being somehow bothered and sending pain signals to the brain.
I have a problem that I cannot seem to find a solution for on the internet, and do not know if a dentist should see it or not. Every once in a while (about every other month), for a few days I get a strange metallic taste in my mouth. My tongue usually swells up and some filmy stuff shows up on it. I cannot get rid of it, it seems like the more I scrub away there is more coming up, too. This usually lasts a couple of days and my mouth is really sore, and then it goes away. I also get a tingling sensation in the gums and on a tooth that was previously root canaled when this happens. There is no bleeding and no pain, just a kind of deep itching feeling. What is this that I have? Is it serious? Does it need to be seen by a professional?
I come to you with a unique problem that has baffled my previous dentist, and for which I cannot seem to be able to find a remedy or cure. My mouth is free from bacteria, I have no missing teeth, and only 2 fillings altogether, and yet every time I brush there is blood in my sputum.

I haven’t been able to chew with the left half of my teeth for months now. It does not otherwise hurt, has no visible cavities, and is not particularly sensitive, either. The tooth has been filled before, and I have gotten an antibiotic root filling, and the tooth has received fluoride treatment as well. I had it x-rayed and there is no sign of an infection or cavitation anywhere.
“This Monday, I had my bottom right molar extracted. It came out in pieces, but my dentist removed all of the pieces, using that nifty spoon like thing. After using the things whose name I cannot for the life of me remember, he applied a styptic to the area. The styptic was completely absorbed in 2 days."
“I bit down on something rather hard and lost a piece of my tooth as a result. The tooth had previously been filled. This is how we realized that the tooth was in bad condition. The tooth was of course root canaled. I noticed a raised area underneath my tooth a little while later. This went away on its own, but came back later, and I took the problem to a dentist. The dentist gave me an appointment to see an endodontist ... "
