Giovanna (played by Giovanna Mezzogiorno) and her husband Filippo (Filippo Nigro) have settled into life. They both have jobs that make them unhappy.

Two different stories are intertwined in the movie and only after some time is the element that unites these two stories revealed; The end of the movie, despite the tragic death of Yaguine and Fodè, leaves a message of hope for the future.
