How often should I brush my teeth?

What kind of brush should I use to brush my teeth?

The generally used toothbrush type has medium sized bristles and head with three rows of bristles in width and 10–12 in length.
As for the shape of the head, the classic straight form is preferred, although today it is hard to find, because the companies producing toothbrushes have to come up with some particular form to be innovative.

The teeth brushing technique

The best and correct technique is that of Bass.
1. Hold the brush at the commonly recognized 45 degree angle to the tooth and gum line.
2. Brush along the gum line using very small and back-and-forth vibrating motions. The tips of the bristles should stay in one place, but the head of the brush should wiggle back and forth.
3. You also can make tiny circles with the brush. This allows the bristles to slide gently under the gum.
4. Do this for about 20 strokes or 20 circles. In healthy gums, this type of brushing should cause no pain. If it hurts, brush more gently.

The steps

These steps have to be performed in every sector. (The first of them includes the front incisors and canines, the second one is the posterior region including premolars and molars.)

The process should also be continued on the palate and tongue; in the front area to facilitate the movement of the toothbrush can be placed in vertical.

And then what happens?

After use of the toothbrush, be safe to use dental floss to get optimum cleaning of interdental areas that can not be cleaned only with the use of the toothbrush.
